Since 2016, Uxbridge Daily has been the unofficial ‘go-to’ digital destination for all things happening in Uxbridge. Beginning as a weekly newsletter, Uxbridge Daily dropped into inboxes every Sunday evening highlighting the events to come in the week ahead. The newsletter was a fantastic way to keep subscribers connected to the community and offer support to local organizers who wanted to promote their event, all free of charge! Our social channels were filled with photos of our bustling town – from the vibrant offerings on Sundays at The Farmers’ Market to the natural beauty of the Trails of Uxbridge and oh so much more. Looking back we are flooded with nostalgia for how it all began.

It goes without saying that in 2020, life as we know it was flipped upside down. Uxbridge Daily went on hiatus in March of that year as the world shifted away from organized events. At Take Root Creative (the team behind Uxbridge Daily) we directed our energy towards helping local businesses set up online stores to stay afloat during the toughest times of the pandemic. We didn’t know what the future would hold for Uxbridge Daily, but we knew we weren’t done.

In 2023 as everything began to open back up, we felt a pull to reignite the sense of kinship we had fostered with Uxbridge Daily. It had always been a dream of ours to create a print publication and if the pandemic had taught us anything, it was the importance of coming together and having a sense of belonging. We poured our blood, sweat and tears (well, mostly just sweat!) into creating a new local magazine and in June 2023, we proudly launched our first edition.

Though the magazine was a product of Uxbridge Daily, we just didn’t feel that the name resonated with us anymore. We were no longer showing up in newsfeeds daily. In our post-Covid world, this didn’t feel like what our audience needed. It’s easy to share content, but we wanted to create our own. We wanted to tell our stories, your stories, the town’s stories. We wanted to showcase more than just events and offer our readers a new lens through which they could see the ordinary as extraordinary. We became more mindful of the content we were creating and how we were creating it. The name ‘You Are Here’ encapsulates the immersive experience we want our readers to have with the magazine. We encourage you to find a cozy spot, pour a hot cup of coffee, kick up your feet and dive in. The rest of the world can wait, right now You Are Here and it’s an incredible place to be.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported Uxbridge Daily over the years. We look forward to continuing to bring you high-quality local content both in print and digital forms. Our team is thrilled to embark on this new chapter and can’t wait to take you along for the ride!
