Huck Finn Days

It’s time to go fishin’!

The annual Huck Finn Youth Fishing Event is back at Elgin Pond this year with a few updates! The festival will now be held between April 22nd starting at 9:00am running until April 29th at 5:00pm.

Last year the event was reformatted from a one day event to a several day event allowing participants more freedom to fish at their leisure in a comfortable setting with their family and community.

Each day during the event, there will be prizes to be won! Submitting is made easy! Simply post your pictures on social media of you and your family fishing, a picture with your lucky catch, or just having fun around Elgin Pond. Make sure you include the hashtag #huckfinnUxbridge in your post so your submission isn’t missed! There’s no registration required and participants must be under the age of 15 years to be eligible for daily prizes! Random draws for prizes from submitted pictures will be made by Hits 105.5FM radio so make sure you and the family are tuned in!

On April 22nd between 9:00am – 1:00pm in Veterans Park, the Pickering Rod and Gun Club is offering free bait and loaner rods! Over the weekend be sure to keep an eye out for Boomer the Bass, as well as, Sparky & ‘Betsy’ from Uxbridge Fire! Boomer the Bass will also make an appearance on the last day of the event.

The event, sponsored by Canadian Tire, is supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Uxbridge Township, the Royal Canadian Legion, the BIA, the Optimist Club, OFAH Zone G and the Pickering Rod and Gun Club.

Get the whole family together and we’ll see you there!
